Our Woodland Cottage
Our woodland cottage with pool is sometimes let to friends and family if we are not there ourselves. Details are below.
The Cottage is around three hundred years old, the original house on the Estate.
When we first came across it the roof had caved in, and the upper story was a hayloft. There were no windows downstairs, just small openings to let in a chink of light.
The twin-bedded room upstairs with en suite bathroom.
Now there are two bedrooms upstairs, one twin and one double each with its own en suite bathroom.
Downstairs there is a tiny bunkroom also with its own bathroom; perfect for teens or pre-teens.

The kitchen is equipped with a gas oven and hob, microwave oven, electric kettle, electric mixer, French Press coffee plunger, teapot crockery and cutlery for 12. There is a domestic fridge/freezer, as well as a washing machine and a dishwasher.
In the living room there is a wood-burning stove for spring or autumn evenings.

The Cosy sitting room has a wood burning stove. In summer the room is cool even on hot afternoons on August, because of the old 1 metre thick stone walls.
Door at back leads to bunk room.
Outside, there is a cobbled terrace with a shady rose and vine-covered pergola. Here there is a table , and benches and chairs for alfresco dining.

To the east of the house and up some steps to a sunny meadow, you will find the small swimming pool, 5 x 3 meters. It's perfect for cooling off on those hot summer days, and children love it.
