About Us

The Finca

Finca Buenvino is our home in the heart of the Sierra de Aracena y Picos de Aroche nature reserve - 100 acres of chestnut woodland, orchards, olive groves, and winding stream. We’ve lived here for nearly 40 years, slowly shaping the land into a peaceful retreat for guests who want to experience rural Andalusia at its most authentic.

The house sits on a hilltop, overlooking blue hills that stretch toward Extremadura. In the valley below, the Buenvino stream runs through stone gulleys and fruit trees, swelling in winter and all but vanishing in summer. Chestnut and cork oak trees surround the finca, offering not just shade but harvests: chestnuts in November, cork every nine years, and acorns for our Iberian pigs.

We grow our own vegetables, keep hens and sheep, and make our own jamón ibérico de bellota, salchichón, and chorizo from our pigs. Finca Buenvino isn’t just a place to stay, it’s a way of life we’re proud to share.

Finca Buenvino lies in the heart of the Sierra de Aracena National Park, just 75 minutes from Seville—but a world away in pace and atmosphere. This is one of Andalusia’s best-kept secrets: a richly diverse, unspoiled landscape with clean air, quiet trails, and outstanding walking all year round.

In spring, the hills are alive with birdsong, wildflowers, and the sound of flowing water. Summer brings warm days perfect for our saltwater pool, shaded siestas, and long evenings on the terrace. Autumn transforms the chestnut forests into gold. We forage mushrooms, pick quinces, and roast chestnuts by the fire, best enjoyed with a glass of local sherry after a long walk.

Whether you’re here to hike, unwind, or simply breathe deeply, the rhythm of life at Buenvino follows the seasons, and each one has its own charm.

Finca Buenvino is a home; it’s not an hotel.
